Lutheran Youth Fellowship and Junior Youth Members

The purpose of the youth ministry programs at Faith is to:

Strengthen, build up, and encourage one another in the Body of Christ.
Recognize and nurture God-given gifts and abilities.
Foster Christian stewardship of time, talents, and resources in all areas of ministry.
Foster fellowship and community with others, and to develop an attitude of service to and caring for all humanity.
Deepen our relationship in the Triune God, and to examine and apply that relationship as it relates to our daily lives.

Junior Youth Members - This group is made up youth in grades 6 through 8. JYM meets at least once a month for events consisting of fun nights, lock-ins, bible studies, hay rides, ski trips and other fun fellowship activities.

Lutheran Youth Fellowship - This group is made up of all confirmed youth in grades 9 through 12. LYF meets at least twice a month for events consisting of retreats, athletic events, service projects, and several major outings.

Cost—The LYF will pay for the rooms. The church will provide the Church vans and gas.
Your only cost is the $115.00 registration and two meals.
Great speakers, an illusionist, and “211” will be the Gathering band.

What about a Christmas Ski trip with an overnighter in the Black Hills in December?

Twin Cities Trip
It was a great trip to the Twin Cities, Concordia University, The Mall of the World, and Valley Fair. What fun!

Concordia University is Pastor Urbach’s Alma Mater. While not a huge campus, it was pretty cool.

A huge LYF thanks to Mike Shoup and Jodi Hartmann for being the leaders on the trip. The LYF has given them both a gift to View 34 as a way to say thanks.

LYF - Looking Ahead
We will take a short summer trip in the summer of 2012 which would include a day at the water park in Rapid and a trip to Rushmore for the Lighting Ceremony and a night in Rapid.

But—starting in Lent with a little matching gift from our Thrivent For Lutherans Choice Fund, we are setting out sights on a huge group attending our Synod’s 2013 San Antonio Youth Gathering
